this game takes much more planning than the dbz games that you have mentioned. if you are an expereinced player then a newcomer that is button mashing will have no chance of beating you.
This game is definenlty very competitive and balanced based off of skill, ultimate ninja storm 3 on consoles is dificult to become good at consistantly online. If this game was not based on a popular IP could it be considered to be competitive with other current fighting games? I have not played it and am looking for a decent experience with no previous knowledge of Shippunden's story. I watched the first 100 episodes of the 1st series and have a basic understanding of the story, but I could care less about the story and I would rather have a competant competitive fighting game. I enjoyed those games, but they always felt like rushed products that are there just to meet fan demand and wouldn't be anything special if they were not tied to an IP.
Power up, perform big attack, maybe get stuck in a QTE, rinse and repeat. From watching gameplay videos it seems like this game play like old PS2 DBZ games. I played a demo for the origional Ninja Storm a long time ago and it seemed very shallow.
Is this game actually balanced for competition or is it just fan service? I have played the older Gamecube Naruto games and found them to be pretty fun and had more depth than most games that are tied to an anime/manga.
